Snoop Dogg voiceover comes to 'Call of Duty: Ghosts' next week

The headline feature of last year's Call of Duty: Ghosts was the addition of a playable German Shepherd, but the latest downloadable content takes the dog theme one step further — it replaces the typical gruff announcer with none other than gangsta rap legend Snoop Dogg. Multiplayer sessions will now be punctuated by proclamations such as "Rack up points by reaching the enemy portal, you dig?" and "Don't stop. Cap 'em and shank 'em!"

"It's the coolest game in the hood, all my homies play this game."

"What interested me most about the project is that my voice could be connected with a game that's so hip, that's so hood." says Snoop, in an announcement video posted to the official Call of Duty YouTube channel. "It says a lot, it's associated with greatness. It's the coolest game in the hood, all my homies play this game." But it sounds like the Doggystyle star wasn't completely set loose on the mic or allowed to freestyle. "I think the writers did a good job on creating the lines specifically for me," says Snoop. "They knew my flavor and they allowed me to do my thing and put a little Snoopism on top of it."

The $2.99 Snoop Dogg voiceover pack will be available for Xbox One and Xbox 360 on April 22nd, with other platforms to follow. It will be joined by an array of downloadable items including the subtly named Blunt Force Personalization Pack — if you ever wanted to deck out an assault rifle in marijuana leaves, your lucky day comes next week.
