The Verge review was written over a year ago & the Chrome OS has improved by leaps & bounds in the past year & even the standard version is updated every 5 weeks. Hardware wise, this is easily my favorite computer & the one I use more than any other. I also own a new MacBook Air & prefer this Pixel to it though I will keep the Air because I need it for my office where macs are the standard. But for all my personal use, this is my go-to device. I love the Chrome OS & have 3 other Chromebooks I've gotten for other members of my family & although all of them have more pros than cons, the Pixel is in a whole other class (& at it's high price it ought to be). For anyone who can afford one & spend most of their time online, then this thing is outstanding. I get 5+ hours only on the battery so I have to plug in before a full day goes by, but that isn't a big deal since I have a car charger on the road & can plug in easily in the office or at home. Still it would be nice to get 10 hours or so like some of the newest Chromebooks claim to get. Oh well... guess you can't have everything - YET! ;-D
