Looking into a Chromebook for college

I am starting to look into getting a laptop for college. My current main computer is desktop, it was built primarily to be able to run games and is not exactly small or portable and I'm not sure if it is a good fit for the college/dorm life. I am looking for a laptop that is portable yet durable, fast, and is relatively inexpensive. I also have a CR-48 Chromebook so I am familiar with ChromeOs. The CR-48 is rather old and slow so I would not want to use it as a daily driver. If any of you could recommend a Chromebook, for any use or for college use specifically.

I have looked at these models:

  • Acer C270
  • Acer C270p (how useful is the touchscreen)
  • HP Chromebook 11
  • Samsung Chromebook
  • Samsung Chromebook 2
  • Toshiba Chromebook

I have a tendency to lean towards those with Intel processors as opposed to the ARM ones, I don't know if this is justified or not so if you have any input on this as well that would be great.
Thanks in advance for all the help.
