Windows Apps - Future?

Hey Tribe!

I recently started learning app development for Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1.

There are a couple of ways to develop an app, based on C#/XAML or HTML/JavaScript, etc. I started with the HTML/JavaScript, and found out that the most apps developed for Windows Store are based on it as well. For example: Skype, People, Stocks, Store, Music, Mail, Sports, Games hub, Weather app, Reading list, Health & Fitness, News, Travel, Food and Drink, Finance and even Calendar, are all built with HTML/JavaScript.

As they say the system uses the same JavaScript/HTML engine as Internet Explorer 11.

Now an idea came to my mind. If all these apps are built with the "web" technologies, can it be possible that in the near future we will see a "Chrome OS" like version of the Windows, which is basically a "browser" that can run all these apps?

What do you think?
