With Godzilla rolling into theaters it’s going to be a big weekend at the movies, but this is also the time of year when the TV networks announce their fall schedules. We’ve been getting a look at many of the new shows to come, which range from the great, to the promising, to the apocalyptically awful. There’s going to be a lot of new shows coming your way, so let’s take a look at some of the latest trailers to make the rounds.

Ascension

Syfy has several new shows coming, including a series based on the demons-and-angels thriller Legion, but Ascension is particularly intriguing. Starring Battlestar Galactica’s Tricia Helfer, the six-episode series is set on a spaceship that left Earth in 1963 as part of a plan to perpetuate the human race. It’s a great premise paired with a wonderful aesthetic — and hey, we like the logo on that mysterious file about thirty seconds in, too.

The Whispers

This trailer for this new ABC drama starts off pretty bland, but things get weirder… and weirder… and weirder. With a pilot directed by Mark Romanek (Nine Inch Nails’ "Closer" video), perhaps that shouldn’t come as a complete surprise. Written by Soo Hugh (Under the Dome), it stars Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes) and American Horror Story’s Lily Rabe.

Gracepoint

Doctor Who’s David Tennant puts a slightly different spin on his portrayal of a police detective in this remake of the UK series Broadchurch. Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad) joins him as they try to track down the killer of a child.

Transporter: The Series

Somebody actually said "We should turn The Transporter trilogy into a TV show." And then they got somebody to play Jason Statham. And now you’ll get to watch it on TNT. The world is a wonderful place.
