Mouse Movement in OS X vs Windows 7

I am currently taking several graphic design courses that use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I use an i7 Macbook Pro at home. I frequently switch between PCs running Windows 7 and iMacs running OS X at school. I'm very comfortable with both operating systems.

With that said, has anyone else noticed that (at least, under the default settings) the mouse (whether wired, or not and with several different computers) seems to move more sluggishly under OS X? It's almost like the movement is undergoing some sort of processing under OS X whereas under Windows 7 (haven't tried 8) it seems noticeably more responsive.

Obviously it's not the end of the world, but it seems so apparent to me that I find it odd that I haven't heard more about it.

Has anyone else who frequently uses both Mac and Windows noticed this?

I feel compelled to add that if you aren't the kind of person who pays an usual amount of attention to small details in, you probably wouldn't notice--which isn't to say that there is definitely a difference, I just would like to weed out responses from people who aren't inclined to notice subtle differences between the two.

Thanks
