Why doesnt the verge report more on start ups like these?
It seems like the verge likes to report on one type of start up, those that are based in California and make social type apps for consumers. While these companies are exciting, there are other fish in the sea.
For example there is a Houston start up that wants to replace copper wire with carbon nanotube. They just signed a 7 billion dollar deal with Weatherford, an oil services company. The link for the story can be found below.
My point is that the verge should step out of the bubble, the start up world is much more than the social and entertainment apps in the Valley, Austin, or New York. People are making things that actually will have a material impact on the world.
