Linux on a Samsung Tablet 2014?

Background: There's only 1 thing stopping me from being 90% mobile on a daily work-level: Chrome Inspector/Firebug. Neither Android nor iOS have it built into their browsers, despite providing hardware that's faster than most laptops 6 years ago (when Chrome debuted).

I've had good luck with these 2 on my Samsung Captivate (CM11) & Sony TL (non-root), but neither will work on the other (device-specific):

Linux Deploy (root) -- accessible via VNC

Debian noroot -- this is a 'compatibility layer' (no VNC!) but requires a bluetooth keyboard.

Anyone out there use these, or willing to try 'em on a Samsung Note 10.1 (2014) running Android 4.4 (rooted or not)?
