Casey Kasem, the voice of Shaggy on the longrunning Scooby Doo cartoon, has died at 82 from natural causes.
Kasem's voice was widely heard over the radio as the first host of America's Top 40. He signed off every episode with the catchphrase, "keep your feet on the ground, and keep reaching for the stars."
The actor also did voices for Sesame Street, The Transformers movie and TV series, and many others. He also appeared on screen in Ghostbusters, Hawaii Five-O, and Charlie's Angels.
The actor's decline was unfortunately marred by a public court battle between Kasem's four children and his second wife. Kasem's daughter Kerri made the decision earlier this month to take her father off a feeding tube, according to his written instructions.
"Our dad Casey Kasem passed away surrounded by family and friends," Kerri posted on Facebook. "The world will miss Casey Kasem, an incredible talent and humanitarian; we will miss our Dad."
