Amazon's new Fire Phone, which was unveiled at an event today in Seattle, will go on sale for $199.99 with a two-year contract on AT&T. That's for the 32GB model; the 64GB model will run $299 on contract. Buyers will also be able to buy it off-contract for $649 and $749 for the 32GB and 64GB models respectively. Amazon's listing both models as shipping July 25th, with preorders starting today. To sweeten the deal, the company's throwing in a "limited time" offer for a free year of Amazon Prime, which normally runs $99 a year.

The phone, which is Amazon's first, features 3D technology the company calls "dynamic perspective." It tracks the user with an array of front-facing cameras. This works on things like your phone's wallpaper, as well as in places like the browser, and inside games and apps. Other features include a visual scanning app called "Firefly" that's capable of identifying art, products, songs, TV shows, and other media using the rear camera.

Amazon's long tapped AT&T for the Kindle

The exclusive deal between the two companies was first reported yesterday by The Wall Street Journal, and spotted on AT&T's site by Business Insider's Steve Kovach. It's highly-unusual in what's become standard practice to offer flagship devices on multiple carriers, though Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos noted that the two companies have been working together on the Kindle for the past five years. Apple pulled a similar move with the first iPhone in 2007.

Along with the standard plans and off-contract sales, AT&T's selling the Fire Phone as part of its Next upgrade program. For the 32GB models, it will be $32.50 per month with a 20 month installment agreement as part of the Next 12, whereas it's $27.09 per month with a 24 month agreement for the Next 18 plan. The 64GB model is a step up from that at $37.50 per month for the Next 12 plan, and $31.25 per month for the Next 18 plan.
