Did early adopters of older Surface Pro models experience hardware issues?

Hi all. I understand that being an early adopter of Surface Pro 3 or any new product is risky regardless of history. But I'm still curious how Microsoft's track record is.

I live outside the US and I'm interested to order a Surface Pro 3 via shipment forwarder service. This also means that I'm giving up the possibly of returning the product for replacement if early adopter hardware issues arise.

Just want to know if anybody who has bought a Surface early had to return it due to hardware issues (corrupted storage, display issues) . I don't care about the issues that can be fixed through software update or keyboard cover issues.
