Google I/O protest
Hey Verge Staff,
Just want to remind you that when you specifically call out the cause that a protester interrupts an event (such as Google I/O just now), you let them succeed. Their goal was to get their message out to as many people as possible by interrupting a large event, and by telling everyone what their message was, you encourage that behavior in the future.
You aren't the only media outlet to forget this, as I have seen coverage of vandalism by protesters on several news outlets, which is even worse, since it tacitly encourages breaking the law. Just thought this was like one of the first rules of journalism, but I didn't go to journalism school.
Just keep that in mind. Thanks
