Best budget lens for portraits and more?

Hey guys,

I've been doing some research on portrait photography and I'm looking to get a solid prime lens. I've been leaning towards the Nikon AF-S 35mm 1.8G because I think it would work well for portraits, it's within my budget and I do a lot of landscape/street photography so I would use it often.

I've also been looking at the Nikon AF-S 50mm 1.8G. It's a full frame lens, which I don't mind, but I don't know if it would be better for portraits than the 35mm or if I would use it much outside of portraits. I've also read good things about the 85mm 1.8G, but I don't think I'd use it much outside of shooting portraits (I currently have an 18-55mm kit lens and a 55-300mm, so that's covered).

I'm currently shooting with a D5000 and I'd like to stick between $200-$250 if I can. I know it's not much of a budget, but I'm short on funds at the moment. Any input would be greatly appreciated and I'm open to other brands.
