The 20 best deals of Cyber Monday 2015

Cyber Monday is here. Shopping is going to be a lot easier now that you're away from family and sitting in front of a computer — the only tricky part is sorting through all the madness. Every store is running dozens (or hundreds, or thousands) of discounts, but not all of it's worth paying attention to. We've sorted through the mess for some of the best Cyber Monday deals on some of our favorite products. This is by no means a comprehensive list, but it's the place to start if you're in need of a game console, a 4K TV, a new phone, or just something fun to play with.

The best Black Friday 2015 phone deals at Verizon, T-Mobile, Best Buy, and more

Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals are usually reserved for gadgets, games, and televisions. But the most ubiquitous device of all — the smartphone — has joined the party over the last few years. You're not going to find the same sort of huge price slashes that you would on those other gifts, and you'll likely have to already be in need of a phone (most of the deals apply to the starts of new contracts or payment plans, and most are in-store only). But if you fit that profile, a number of retailers are seriously sweetening the pot this year with gift cards and steep discounts — especially on Samsung phones.

The best Black Friday 2015 deals on laptops and tablets

The weekend of Black Friday and Cyber Monday marks one of the best times of the year to pick up gadgets you may not necessarily need to own but have been eyeing for months now. In other words, it's a good time for a new tablet. The weekend sales extravaganza is also a prime time to find that ideal laptop at a $100 or even $200 or $300 discount.

As has been the case in years past, Best Buy has some of the biggest discounts across the widest selection of tablets and laptops from nearly ever big-name brand. Walmart and Target are back this year with great tablet deals too, while Amazon has been running a week-long promotion on its Kindle products alongside some steep discounts on Dell and Acer products. For those looking to avoid in-store lines or the early-morning online rush, lesser-known outlets for tech products like Office Depot and Staples may be worth checking out. And going direct to the manufacturer online — like Microsoft, HP, and, Dell — is never a bad idea either.

Video games are expensive, which is what makes Black Friday great particularly for gamers: you can grab both games and hardware for steep discounts. It's good for catching up on titles you may have missed through the year, upgrading your PC, or finally taking the plunge on a new console. Different retailers are offering a lot of the same products at the same prices this year — including PlayStation 4 and Xbox One bundles after both Sony and Microsoft announced price cuts to their latest consoles — but you can get yourself prepared for the Black Friday frenzy with some of the best deals below.

The best Black Friday deals on 4K, Ultra HD, and smart TVs

Aside from maybe Super Bowl weekend, there's really no better time to buy yourself a brand new TV than Black Friday. Whether you're making the move to 4K, searching for a giant-sized 1080p set, or trying to find a bargain-priced smaller TV, you've got plenty of options. But when you're staring at a huge stack of ads, filtering out the best deals can be a daunting challenge. So we've done the grunt work for you. Target extends Cyber Monday for entire week

While some stores launch their Cyber Monday sales days before Thanksgiving itself, Target is extending its online deals for a week following the holiday. Various departments will have deals throughout that week, and Target is offering 15 percent off most of its inventory on Monday. The store will also offer nearly 75 bonus discounts throughout the day. If you get caught up in Cyber Monday madness, clicking "buy" on items you already have or don’t even need, there's free shipping and returns. This doesn’t even take into account the store’s Black Friday deals, which start on Thanksgiving this year.

Full deal details will be announced this Sunday through target.com/Weeklyad, but the retailer previewed some of what shoppers can expect:

Amazon's Black Friday sale begins early with cheap Kindles, 4K TVs, and game consoles

Amazon's Black Friday festivities began earlier this month, but it's only now the internet retail giant is really ramping up the deals. Amazon has announced eight days of savings around the Thanksgiving holiday, starting on November 20th, and running until Black Friday itself, November 27th. The company says it'll be offering new deals "as often as every five minutes" during the period, but it's saving its biggest cuts for Thanksgiving day itself. At midnight on the Thursday, ten "deals of the day" will become available, with "up to ten more" going live on Black Friday.

The retailer will also have a rolling series of "lightning deals" available for limited amounts of time during the eight-day period. Prime members will get a 30-minute headstart on these, and those members lucky enough to live in one of 20 metropolitan areas will qualify for free two-hour delivery if they use the Prime Now app. In addition to the deals available through its regular web shop, the retailer is offering more than 150 lightning deals that will only be accessible through its Amazon Mobile Shopping Android, iOS, and Fire OS apps. These deals are available from 3 PM until 11 PM ET from Thanksgiving until December 8th.

Walmart's Black Friday deals include curved 4K TVs and game consoles for cheap

Black Friday creeps ever earlier. This year, Best Buy is offering its best deals on Thursday, while Amazon is doing its best to destroy the concept entirely, starting its price cuts three weeks early. Today Walmart has joined the fray, detailing the deals consumers can expect on Thanksgiving week. As with several of its peers, the retailer is starting the party early, cutting $200 off curved 4K Samsung TVs, selling Roku SE media players for $25, and offering consoles for $50 cheaper than normal.

The deals can be perused on Walmart's official app — a neat way to force bargain hunters into a download — and start at 6PM on Thanksgiving Day. That'll give you time to get your turkey finished and your family out of the door before you sprint down to your local store, but as Black Friday encroaches on other holidays, you have to wonder: how long until Black Friday envelopes the entire Thanksgiving week? How long before it swallows up the entire month of November? What happens when it eats the entire year? We'll be left with 365 days of unrelenting darkness, in which all is lost in a frenzy of lines, tickets, and deals on consumer electronics, and we pray only to a new pantheon of gods that includes Best Buy, Amazon, and Walmart.

eBay's Black Friday deals include Samsung 4K TVs, iPads, and GoPros

You might still think of eBay as an auction site, but for years now it's essentially been a store first and foremost. That means it too will have plenty of deals come Black Friday (and the day before it, and the day after it, and the day after that, and on Cyber Monday, too). The deals from eBay are pretty scattered, ranging from tech to Ugg boots. Rather than put up all of its discounts at once, eBay is going to be launching hourly deals; basically, it wants you to come back every hour on the hour to keep shopping. It announced a small selection of its discounts this morning, all of which will be available — at some hour of the given day — on eBay's deals site:

Best Buy's Black Friday deals include discounted Apple Watch and cheap 4K TVs

We've still got a little over two weeks until the chaos of Black Friday, but Best Buy wants to get you salivating over your next big-box purchase already. The retailer has detailed the deals it will be rolling out for the ersatz holiday, offering a set of ultra-cheap deals on iPads, 4K TVs, smartphones, game consoles, laptops, and even the Apple Watch.

As it did last year, Best Buy is making a mockery of Black Friday convention by starting the festival of capitalism a day early. The store will be offering "doorbuster" deals on Thanksgiving Day itself, opening its doors at 5PM on Thursday for people willing to line up for tickets two hours ahead of time. Those that do forgo turkey and family for consumer electronics will have access to some of the best deals, including a Samsung 4K TV for $800, Amazon's Fire tablet for $35, and $200 off the price of both MacBooks and iMacs. Best Buy's also offering up to $100 off the Apple Watch.

Staples Black Friday deals include cheap Galaxy tablets, iPads, and laptops

Staples will kick off its lineup of Black Friday deals beginning at 6AM; mercifully, this is one retailer that's not opening its doors on Thanksgiving Day, though nothing's stopping you from ordering products online Thursday. The company has some appealing iPad prices, which fall even lower than the already-decent sales that Staples has offered in recent weeks. If you're hunting for a low- to mid-range Windows laptop or PC, Staples has no shortage of options there, as well.

Costco's Black Friday deals include discounts on TVs and Surface Pro 3

Costco has announced its Black Friday sales, and it will extend far past the day itself. The retail giant will kick off its sale on Friday, November 20th, operating on normal store hours, and run up until the November 26th, before closing for Thanksgiving Day.

Items like the Surface Pro 3 Type Cover and Surface Pen bundle ($250 off) and a 55-inch Samsung 4K TV ($500 off) will lead the sale, which will also be available online (There are also a few online-only deals worth checking out). Costco will reopen early on Black Friday, and continue its steep discounts on a number of electronics. Costco isn't giving out the actual price for most of its biggest sales, just the discounts, so the pricing may vary. Here are some highlights from the sale:
