Happy winter, everyone! Last year, more or less on a whim, I decided to get some fellow Verge-ers to participate in an extremely unofficial Game of Thrones fantasy league. My reasoning was simple: Game of Thrones is a show I like to watch for the numbers — how many kills, how many one-liners, how many seconds of gratuitous prestige cable nudity. Surely, I thought, I'm not alone in this particular flavor of enjoyment.

Our first Game of Game of Thrones league was a success, to say the least — and ignited strong passions both within and without our league. One thing was clear: the people demanded a playable league so they, too, could partake in the arbitrarily scored fun. It turns out that rendering an exciting, entertaining, frequently violent, and misogynistic television show into a series of Excel worksheets inspires some very intense FOMO.

Well, good news to all the bannerless out there: Game of Game of Thrones is now a playable fantasy game, thanks to our pals at Fantasizr.com. Starting right this second, you can go create a league on their site for free, and draft your team out of 60 characters and "special teams." I am told you will also be able to make trades over the course of the season; certainly good news for anyone unlucky enough to draft the Sand Snakes. The scoring will be done by yours truly every week along with my Monday report, same as last year. The only difference is that now my almost entirely improvisational points system will have a real impact on your league / life / office pool. (The Verge does not condone or encourage gambling, especially gambling on the outcome of a scripted HBO show that has dragons in it.)

So get to it! There are only five days until season six premieres, and you and your league will need to get all your dragons in a row by then. I'll be back on Friday with a rundown of the House Verge's draft results, and an overall preview of what to expect from GOGOT this season. In the meantime I'd refresh yourself on where things left off at the end of season five, and remind yourself what a stupid, delightful waste of time all this is going to be.
