The body of an Apple employee has been found at the company's headquarters in Cupertino, CA. Matt Keller of ABC7 News first reported that it was a man and a gun was located near his body. He also reported that a Sheriff's spokesperson says the deceased was an Apple employee.

"We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of a young and talented coworker," Apple said in a statement to The Verge. "Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends, including the many people he worked with here at Apple. We are working to support them however we can in this difficult time."

On April 28th, local police confirmed that the man died by suicide, with a self-inflicted gunshot. No one else was injured in the incident.

If someone you know exhibits warning signs of suicide: Do not leave the person alone. Remove any firearms, alcohol, drugs or sharp objects that could be used in a suicide attempt. Call the U.S. National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-TALK (8255). Take the person to an emergency room or seek help from a medical or mental health professional.
