Craving the next seasons of Marvel’s Daredevil and Jessica Jones? It’s looking like you might have a longer wait than expected. At the Television Critics Association Press Tour, Netflix’s chief content officer Ted Sarandos announced that the company will be releasing the first seasons of Iron Fist and the team-up Defenders, with the next seasons of the other shows coming after.
That could mean that season two of Jessica Jones, season three of Daredevil, as well as the first season of The Punisher could be coming out in 2018 and 2019.
Of course, this assumption only holds if Netflix continues with the same release schedule. Up until this point, we’ve only had a handful of Marvel shows to watch: Daredevil season one and Jessica Jones season one in 2015, with Daredevil’s second season debuting earlier this spring, and Luke Cage arriving on September 30th.
Marvel/Netflix sked: Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Defenders THEN 2nd and 3rd seasons of the other shows and Punisher.

Two shows a year does seem to be the schedule that Netflix will be holding to, which would mean that while we’ll get to catch up with Jessica Jones, Matt Murdoch, and maybe Frank Castle in Defenders, we’ll likely get some combination of Jessica Jones season two, Daredevil season three, and Punisher season one in 2018 and 2019.
That’s a long time to wait, but it will give us some time to finish Stranger Things and all the other shows we’ve been binging.
