@POTUS is now the official handle of Donald Trump, but the 45th president turned to his personal twitter account to make his first tweets as America’s newest leader. The tweetstorm (sent from an iPhone) echoed Trump’s speech made just this afternoon.

Trump further tweeted that “January 20th 2017, will be remembered as the day the people became the rulers of this nation again.” Other tweets link out to his Facebook page for more regurgitation of his inauguration speech. This follows with previous reports that Trump will retain and continue to be active on his personal account; prior to being sworn in, he’d also sent out a flurry of tweets about the inauguration.

The newly reset @POTUS account remains silent for now.
