Facebook Messenger users on iOS appear to be encountering a new bug that prevents them from typing more than a few words at a time, according to a report from TechCrunch.

Various people have complained on Twitter about the issue. User @brians_books offered the best view of the problem with a screen recording. As seen in the tweet, Brian is only able to type a few words into the message field before the keyboard completely freezes up, preventing him from typing anything else.

The results are

almost poetic,

with words being

scattered across

several lines

of text, but

it is probably

very irritating

to deal with

for extended

periods of time.

In a comment to TechCrunch, Facebook acknowledged that it was looking into the issue, but for now the company hasn’t offered a timeline of when to expect a fix. There doesn’t seem to be any solution for now, either. Other users have reported on Twitter that restarting their phone or even deleting the app has had no effect.

At least Facebook can take solace in the fact that it’s still not the biggest messaging issue on iOS this week.
