Arriving in March, but no pricing just yet

When we first reviewed a laptop with a OLED display, it felt like the future. Lenovo and HP were the first to create OLED laptops back in 2016, but the displays never really took off across mainstream premium notebooks due to the price of the panels. HP originally placed an OLED display on its HP Spectre x360 13 three years ago, and now it’s creating an optional OLED model of the 15-inch HP Spectre x360. It’s the first time we’ve seen an OLED display on a 15-inch laptop.

The design and internals will be based on the current HP Spectre x360 15, but the display will be OLED with HDR support. That means the OLED model will come equipped with an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB PCIe SSD storage. HP isn’t providing an exact price for this model, but given previous pricing for OLED laptops, it’s not going to be cheap at all. HP isn’t providing estimated battery life just yet, but existing Spectre x360 15 models run for up to 16 hours of mixed usage and an OLED display will obviously impact that estimate greatly. HP expects to start shipping this OLED model in March.
