T-Mobile G2 gets Android 2.3.4 OTA, includes battery life fix
The T-Mobile G2 has begun receiving an incremental OTA update, bumping it to Android 2.3.4, while adding a Google security patch, Google Skymap improvements, and enabling data connection during domestic roaming, as well as addressing a major battery drain issue from Android 2.3.3. As usual, the carrier says the upgrade will roll out to customers in waves, and that it can't be manually pushed, but we'll see if T-Mobile eventually lets customers bring their phones into stores like it did for the previous update. Regardless, it's nice to see a wireless provider continue to support an "old" Android device, especially since the G2's been put out to pasture — T-Mobile hasn't sold it for months.
