Droid 4 teardown shows a high-quality keyboard and lots of glue
We've taken a look at the outside of the Droid 4, but what's hidden inside that half-inch of electronics? We've got the full results from iFixit, and it looks like the answer is... lots and lots of glue. The Droid 4 apparently has some excellent hardware, but the average user is going to have trouble getting to it. The battery, for instance, isn't supposed to be user-removable — a major departure from previous numbered Droid models — and taking it out requires fighting through a layer of...

The day's finally here. Following its announcement last month, and our first glimpse of it at CES, the Droid 4 is now available on Verizon. The styling's slightly updated too, sharing the chopped corners of the Droid RAZR.
We're already seeing a number of discounts on the handset —...

Verizon to resurrect double data promotion, offer buy-one-get-one-free Droid RAZR or RAZR Maxx on February 10th
It looks like it's set to be a big weekend for Verizon: not only is it expected to launch the Droid 4, but it's also gearing up for a few major offers. CNET and BGR are both reporting that the earlier rumors of a Droid 4 launch coming this weekend are true, with both sources pegging the handset to launch on Friday for $199.99 with a two-year contract. The phone's the long-awaited successor to the Droid 3, and while it keeps the signature sliding keyboard, it also finally brings LTE support to...
Droid 4 hitting Verizon on February 9th for $199?
The poor Droid 4. Not only was its original launch delayed a couple of months, but even when it was finally announced in early January it wasn't given a release date or price tag. We may never know the secret story of the physical keyboard-equipped phone and why Verizon has pushed it in the corner so many times, but Droid-Life claims to have heard some concrete information about the phone's arrival. According to their sources, the LTE, dual-core-powered phone will be arriving in Verizon...

Motorola Droid 3 price cut to $99 ahead of eventual Droid 4 launch
We know it's coming, but we still don't know when Motorola's Droid 4 will launch at Verizon. In the meantime, the Droid 3 remains your best bet for an Android phone with a keyboard at the carrier and Verizon's making it more enticing by dropping the price to $99. That'll get you the same quality screen and keyboard we saw when it debuted back in July, as well as the same old Android 2.3 OS. In all likelihood, this will be the last hurrah for the Droid 3 — we heard a few weeks ago that...
Motorola Droid 4 and LG Spectrum will have global GSM roaming, eventually
Verizon has revealed that that its upcoming LG Spectrum and Motorola Droid 4 will feature global roaming capability through GSM / WCDMA support. Both phones offer LTE, so this makes them the first LTE devices to support GSM, CDMA and LTE alike — a potent triple combo that should give them top speeds essentially anywhere in the world, regardless of network Historically, Verizon has done a solid job supporting GSM global roaming, a challenging prospect when your network is underpinned by a...

Motorola Droid 4 priced at $249.99, according to leaked price list
Motorola's Droid 4 was finally announced at CES, but there was no info given on pricing or a release date. While we still don't know when it'll be out, Droid Life received Verizon's minimum advertised price listing, which showed the Droid 4 for $249.99. It's looking like the cost of LTE and Razr-inspired design is $50 over the Droid 3's price point, assuming this information is correct. Here's hoping that Verizon ends the tease and releases all the info soon.

Droid 4 accessories and new comparison photos emerge
The Motorola Droid 4 has been pictured, thoroughly detailed, and was rumored for a December 2011 release, but the device continues to elude store shelves. And now a little more teasing is in order — some new photos from TechnoBuffalo show what looks like a demo Droid 4 unit sitting alongside an iPhone 4S (hint: the Droid looks bigger). The new shots show white borders around the Droid's keys, but that's the only difference we can spot between these and earlier photos.
Additionally, as Droid...

Droid 3, LG Revolution, and all of Verizon's 4G Hotspots rumored to be discontinued in January
Despite the fact that the long-anticipated Droid 4 is nowhere to be found, it looks like Verizon is getting ready to End-of-Life its precursor. A tipster, who wrote in under the request of anonymity, let us know the last shipments of the Droid 3 will be arriving in January, only a little more than six months after the phone launched. While it didn't exactly blow us away, the Droid 3 remains one of only a few options for Verizon Android shoppers looking for a keyboard, so this might point to...

Droid 4 QWERTY slider revealed, Droid Xyboard LTE tablets coming this month to Verizon
Motorola's been showing off its Verizon-branded Droid 4 and Droid Xyboard tablets to the CNET staff, and they've got the images to prove it. The Droid 4, you'll recall, is a 4-inch 1.2GHz dual-core LTE slider rumored for a December 8th release. It's also an exact match to the device caught by Droid Life back in October. The 8-inch Droid Xyboard (aka, Xoom 2 Media Edition) and 10-inch Droid Xyboard (aka, Xoom 2) tablets also rumored for a December 8th launch will definitely launch this...

If you had any remaining doubt that the Droid 4 was supposed to be a RAZR with a keyboard, this should nip it in the bud — Droid-Life seems to have obtained another batch of Verizon documents that show the two phones going head to head, bullet point for bullet point before the Droid 4's increasingly likely December 8th rumored release. We're also getting our clearest glimpse at the 4-inch, 1.2GHz dual-core LTE slider yet, as you can see in the shots immediately above. Unlike the RAZR,...
Motorola Droid 4 specs leak: 4-inch screen and edge-lit keyboard
If you've been envisioning the Droid 4 as a "Droid RAZR with a keyboard," you're in the right neighborhood. All those radios mean that the Droid 4 appears to be a world phone on top of the standard Verizon CDMA/LTE setup. Packing in all those...
Droid 4 slated for December 8th launch alongside the Galaxy Nexus?
Oh Verizon, you crazy jokesters. According to a leaked screenshot from the carrier's inventory management system, not only is the heavily-anticipated Galaxy Nexus indeed slated to hit store shelves on December 8th, it's looking like another LTE device could be coming along for the ride. If you believe the dark, cropped image which has made its way into the hands of the good chaps at Droid Life, Motorola's very RAZR-like Droid 4 will be joining the party. If you recall, the thin slider...

Rumored Droid 4 pictures, specs revealed: 4G LTE, 'RAZR styling'
It feels like only yesterday that Motorola released the Droid 3. In fact, it was just over three months ago — which makes this supposedly leaked photo of the Droid 4 all the more interesting. Droid-Life has a number of fairly high-resolution shots, with what looks to be yet another slight keyboard tweak. The Android 2.3.5 handset (destined for Ice Cream Sandwich, presumably) is said to have a 4-inch SuperAMOLED Advanced screen, 4G LTE, and "Droid RAZR styling" - which means it's thin and...
