Griffin Beacon universal remote now available for Android
The Griffin Beacon universal remote for iOS was announced back in January, but now it's available for Android 2.3.3 and up. To refresh your memory, the device is an IR blaster that runs on four AAs and pairs with your phone through Bluetooth so you can control all your AV devices in one place. Dijit's free companion app augments the standard remote control functions with TV program guides to make it easier to find what you want to watch. While other devices do nearly the same thing, the Beacon is competitively priced at $69.99 for Android and $79.99 for iOS. Just don't buy the cheaper one thinking you can use it with your iPhone, because Griffin designed them to be incompatible with each other. If that seems unfair, you'll feel better after watching the adorable advertisement below.
