Apple has released an update for its iAd Producer app, providing new options for those looking to create content for its mobile advertising platform. Version 3.0 of the app includes new templates and a new interface, as well as additional built-in actions — so iAds will allow users to add calendar events, send emails, add contacts, and more from an ad itself. Originally launched in 2010, iAd hasn't really caught on quite the way Apple had intended. At launch the platform included a minimum ad buy of $1 million, but that has been slashed several times in an attempt to bring in more advertisers, first dropping to $400,000 and then $100,000 at the beginning of the year.
