Sony officially announced its Xperia E5 today, and we aren't excited. The phone's marketed as something that "just works" out of the box. That's usually a good thing. But apart from its sleek design, the phone is as simple as it gets. There's nothing to focus on spec-wise but nonetheless, here we go:

  • 5-inch display, 720p
  • 13-megapixel rear-facing camera
  • 5-megapixel front-facing camera
  • 2700 mAh battery
  • 1.5GB RAM
  • 16 GB internal memory, up to 200 GB expandable storage
  • Quad-Core MTK6735

The Xperia E5 will be available in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa in late June. Xperia Blog reports that the phone will sell for 199 euro, which is a lot for a phone that's more entry-level than mid-range.
