Want to catch up on film history, but don't have the time? 90to5, a competition asking savvy editors to pare down movies into five-minute shorts, provides a nice shortcut. The competition has gotten some inventive entries before: mostly they're classics (Night of the Living Dead, Rashomon), but there are also some clever takes on cult hits (Plan 9 From Outer Space, Reefer Madness).

The third year of the competition will be kicking off soon, so to get you caught up, here's a five-minute recut of Andrei Tarkovsky’s classic Stalker. You can see all the movies — including last year's top-prize winner, And Then There Were None — here. Spoilers ahead.
