The Series 7 Gamer is a serious mobile gaming platform. It's on par with any of the latest & greatest offered from competitors and boasts a sub-$2,000 price tag. Not bad for everything you're getting. Its only glaring weakness is the battery. It's undersized and lacks longevity, clocking in nearly 2 hours before heading for a power outlet. But all things considered, you aren't playing Battlefield 3 on this thing while moving from room to room, so it's not a legitimate concern. Still, it would have been nice to see Samsung pack a little more "heat" into the battery to give it a bit more portability should the user find it necessary. If you're looking for something powerful without spending well over $2,000 on a mobile gaming/workstation laptop, this might be your best bet. $1,899 is a fair price, and the keyboard and touchpad are improved over the standard Series 7 offerings. Plus, JBL lent a hand in the on-board speakers, offering a small subwoofer to round out a very satisfying auditory experience.
