The Sony DualShock Analog Controller was released for use with the original PlayStation, but could also be used with the PlayStations 2 when it was released, except for a few games. The DualShock was Sony's second attempt at implementing vibration feedback in a controller after the Japanese version of the Dual Analog Controller. With the DualShock's launch, games began to take advantage of vibration features as well as more fine-tuned control, enabled by the controller's dual analog sticks.
