The Atari Joystick was an eight-direction joystick with a single button, and could be disconnected from the console. A pair was included with Atari game systems from the 2600 through to the 2600 Jr., along with a set of Atari Paddles. The Atari Joystick remains one of the most recognizable objects in gaming history.
