The Atari Paddle used a wheel to give the user analog control in one dimension, as well as a single button. A pair were included with the Atari 2600, both using a single controller port on the system. The Paddles were compatible with games such as Pong and Breakout, whereas the bundled Joysticks were used with games that required two dimensional motion.
