The second generation Nook from Barnes & Noble ditches the touchscreen LCD menu bar of the first model while adding touch sensitivity to the 6-inch E Ink display. This results in the e-reader having a substantially more compact footprint, and the 16 levels of grayscale offer fifty percent greater contrast than the original Nook. On Nov 7th, 2011 the Barnes & Noble relaunched the Simple Touch at a new price (down from $139.99) with software that improved both screen rendering and battery life. |
