The Vudu Box was released in 2007. It was one of the first set top products to offer true digital movie and television rentals via broadband internet streaming. Though initially limited to standard definition content, a later software update added 1080p Full HD playback capability. Despite favorable reviews, the product was ultimately abandoned as Vudu would shift strategy toward getting their software onto third party hardware. Description |
