The Sony PlayStation is Sony's first official foray into the world of video game consoles. Previous attempts to enter the market as a hardware supplier were postponed by broken contracts with Nintendo. The PlayStation was a disc-based console with two controllers and two memory card slots. It had the ability to play CDs and later on, CD-R discs. The original PlayStation controller had no rumble support or analog sticks. The PlayStation Dual Analog controller allowed for analog controls for supported PlayStation games. Production of the PlayStation was discontinued in 2006. Description |
