The Apple Thunderbolt Display is very similar to the Cinema Display it replaces, using the same 27-inch 2560 x 1440 IPS LCD panel, stereo speakers and FaceTime HD camera. This time around, the Mini DisplayPort connection has been swapped for a Thunderbolt connector, providing a higher throughput that allows for a gigabit ethernet port and Thunderbolt port in addition to the USB and FireWire ports found on its predecessor.
