Shown as a "sneak peek" at Apple's 2013 WWDC, the Mac Pro is a major departure from the design of its predecessor which was in use for more than a decade. Instead of the large traditional tower shape, the Mac Pro for 2013 uses a significantly smaller cylindrical shape that utilizes a hollow core to blow air through the entire device. While it dwarfs the older Mac Pro towers, it still uses Intel's Xeon processors and has options for workstation–class GPUs.
