A very well designed phone. The 'Z' hinge (although controversial) has stood the test of time and still performs admirably. The hardware continues to impress - its 5MP camera still performs well beyond its means and its 4 row QWERTY keyboard still feels good to type on. It maintains the notion of HTC's legendary build quality in all respects. Its battery will typically last approximately a day and a half, however a heavy user would typically see this shortened to around a day or less.
Despite it's well designed hardware it is plagued with HTC's 'Sense' skin which is too flashy and rather vulgar. Furthermore, it sometimes struggles to maintain a lag-free user experience despite its 2nd generation 800 MHz snapdragon processor, but it still generally performs smoothly.
All in all, the HTC Desire Z was an incredibly crafted phone which was at one point the best QWERTY Android one could buy. It is unfortunate that HTC does not sell a QWERTY Android phone right now which is up to the same standard and specs.
