Its a been funny to be reviewing a laptop released all the way back in 2010, but given Lenovo's history and first attempt to move forward to a new design standard with their ultarportable U series IdeaPad line-ups, the U260 is a worthy-note and have been heavily used through time, if you're thinking of buying one for whatever reason (on sale cheap used or refurbished etc), this review should shed some light on the U260.

At less than 3 lbs, the Core i5 1st generation ULV equipped machine is speedy enough for most basic computing task, and even fast enough for some light gaming action (but don't expect much from the 1st Gen, non-Sandy Bridge ULVs). Battery life is dismal on the U260, which is unfortunately the big short-coming of this Ultraportable.

The laptop is strikingly thin for a laptop before the Ultrabook craze, and measures only ~0.7-inch thick. The 12.5-inch display is unique in its choice, and when paired with the very standard 1366 x 768, the pixel density is actually very decent (compare to 13.3 to 14-inch machines). Well design and well built all around, the U260 is a pleasure to look at. Its unfortunate that the battery life just doesn't cut the cake, with 3:30 hours being the max you can probably do (far cry from the 4 hours Lenovo promises).
