This phone really disappointed me. I bought it for HTC"s stellar industrial design and the fantastic camera. Neither disappointed, but I really wish I thought more about battery life/performance/display tech. before I bought this sucker. In general the phone was laggy, even with custom ROMs instead of Sense (yuck). HTC have really lagged behind in screen tech as well. Apple and Samsung continue to make stellar displays, meanwhile this screen looked foggy and washed out compared to other phones. It was a full step behind my Samsung Captivate, which came out much earlier than the Inspire. My biggest gripe however was the battery life. Simply awful. I could not go anywhere without bringing a charger. 10-12 hours was the best this thing did, and that was with Wifi disabled and GPS disabled, few widgets and careful management of what was pinging the internet for updates. I'm thankful for this phone because it taught me that battery life should be your first concern when considering a smartphone. It could be the greatest/fastest/sexiest phone of all time, but if it only stays on for a few hours what does it matter? The point of a smartphone is for it to be on and accessible at all times, especially in situations where a PC is unavailable. HTC, you really failed to remember that.
