This was a great device! The first iPod, and indeed Apple product of any form that I owned. I got it was back in 2007 and have moved right through the Apple ecosystem since. It's amazing to see how far we've come. This is a very important device for a number of reasons. In many ways the iPod touch influenced iPad even more than iPhone did, so it's a really big deal. Although the first generation had very limited hardware and software by todays standards, at it's time it really was the best portable media player you could get, other than iPhone, of course.

iPod touch was my first true gadget. After more than three years, I still use and love it, even though the software has not been updated for a while. The device is well designed, but what really has kept me in love is iOS. Apple was not lying when they said iOS was at least five years ahead of the competition. (This device's only major absence is of speakers, though it's never really bothered me.)

    Good Stuff
    - Simple design
    - Breathtaking operating system
    - Amazing quality and quantity of apps
    - Great as a music/video player
    - Many Internet features

    Bad Stuff
    - Battery life not the best (but not terrible) over time
