Simply put: the Kinect is an outstanding achievement in both gaming and media navigation. You are the controller both in voice and motion. While I can't say there's a wealth of amazing games that adopt the Kinect's hardware, there are some out there that are awesome, and one can only imagine the potential this unit has as developers learn how to take advantage of all it has to offer. Dance Central 2 is infectiously fun and active, while games like Ghost Recon Future Soldier, Skyrim, and Mass Effect 3 all give you a little more immersion and connectivity with the world you're digitally entering every time you load up the game. I certainly hope there's some killer titles coming for this device. But even on its own with just a few good games, video chat, and voice/motion navigation of your whole console, it's worth the investment.

I think it deserves the 9. It's still an awesome, dare I say it nearly "magical" experience when you hover your hand to go through menus and playing stuff. It's something you have to experience for yourself to really get it. Very innovative tech and for me it's something completely different than the Wii. It works a LOT better than I expected. Sure the occasional hiccup occurs, but overall (in the high 90% range) it just works and very good I might add.
There are now many good games to play and it's just a lot of fun. We played it at Christmas with the whole family and there is another plus in my point of view - my mother may not want to play Halo with me and my brothers. The bundled Adventures Game and Dance Central 2 on the other hand... :D

If you own a X-Box and liked the Wii or could see yourself waving and jumping to play a game - BUY THIS.

Kinect is a lot like Batman. It exists as this symbol, this idea. It's more than a device. It's also shiny and black, just like the Batman. And it can see in the dark. Just. Like. Batman. Why does it only get a 7? Because there's no Kinectmobile. Yet.

Or maybe it just needs more title support.
