Applydea Maglus

Verge Review

Until Paper for iPad launched, we didn't know many people who were clamoring for a stylus to use in conjunction with their iPad. And now, the Best Buy around the block from us is sold out of styli, and Amazon's in-house stylus has reached #1 on the sales chart for tablet accessories — ahead of smart covers, screen protectors, cases, and stands. Well OK, maybe it was Draw Something that spurred the rush, but if it's not completely evident, the stylus is making a bit of a comeback. While no...

I've purchased two of these, one for me and one for a coworker. The writing performance has been good but I'd prefer a finer point. After a year of use the rubber covering over the magnets came off and the magnets fell out. I contacted the mfg. and they said they'd sell me a third unit at half price!! Yikes for a pricey stylus they won't stand behind it.

My problem with Maglus & customer support: there is NO customer support, and they are NOT good to deal with. Buy a different product -they DO NOT guarantee their product, and they do NOT stand behind it.

Hello, I purchased my stylus last fall. It is great, except that the rubber grips on the sides are now sliding around, and the edges have become sticky. I would like to have the problem fixed.

    Hi there.
If you send the stylus to us here in Ireland we can repair it and send it back to you. However, considering the time and shipping costs involved, I suggest that you use superglue to fix the problem at far less effort and expense.
    Kind regards,
    Ross

I tried your suggestion. Superglue needs two surfaces in total contact. Your system has the rubber grip larger than the indented area, and obviously relied on the glue to fill the void. Superglue does not work that way.

This, to me, reflects poorly on your product. I paid a lot of money for what is quickly proving to be a substandard product. It should certainly last more than 6 months.

Your excuse that it is too costly to return and repair is unacceptable. Your product has not held up. Replacement, if not repair, at your expense, would be the accepted and proper response.

I am not impressed, and will make my views known.

I ordered the Maglus direct form Ireland as a way of supporting my heritage and getting a good stylus. Well in 2 months the tip was much more than shot and after contacting applydea for replacement tips I was told they woulld give me about $5 off the cost of a new one because the original did not have replaceable tips. After supporting them in getting them started I got stiffed royally. I would not trust them for any support at all. Maglus in the garbage. Over $37 down the tube for a stylus that worked less than 2 months. They knew this and sold it anyway. Buy at your own risk.
