A solid laptop which can be found for a good price.

I'll start with the best parts, display and performance. The matte display cannot be faulted. It has great viewing angles and the 1080p screen looks simply awesome playing Blu-ray movies. I would rather watch a movie on this laptop than my TV. Performance also leaves very little to complain about. Even after installing a dozen games, the Adobe Suite, a couple of virtual machines and various other software, nothing slows it down. Games like Far Cry 3 play great on about settings, but quickly degrade any higher than that. Speakers are also incredibly good, as is the typing experience.

Issues I've had are with the build quality. Coming from a Mac, I've noticed a lot of creaks and flexing in the trackpad and surrounding the screen. The trackpad works well for the most part, but it lacks any sort of fluidity, and gestures (apart from two-finger scrolling) seem to work on their own volition. Battery life is usually about three hours of web browsing, and doesn't last long enough to watch The Dark Knight Rises in it's entirety. Not recommended for frequent travelers.

The people I would recommend this to are casual gamers, part-time video editors and people who use their laptops for a lot of media consumption. The weight and battery life will slow down people who are always on the go, but it does well as a portable workstation.
