I bought this laptop straight out of high school in 2010. I put it through the grinder in 4 years of college. Dropped it from a bunkbed at least twice, spilled drinks on it several times, killed the battery by overcharging it, and more. And it still performs just as well as the first week I had it. I do tend to take care of it to ensure the performance, but still. I've been very surprised at how it's held up. I've dual booted it 6 times, ran just Windows 8 Dev Preview then Consumer Preview by themselves, then switched to several lone Linux distros, and finally landed back on Windows 7 Pro. In all, over 4 years, it's run at least 12 different operating systems (sadly never could Hackintosh it). I've done just about all you can do this computer, and it's handled it in stride. I easily got my $699 out of it from 2010. This review means nothing now because nobody will be buying this in the future, but I wanted to put this on the web somewhere that there is at least ONE very happy customer with the NV53A.
