  I just bought this as my backup camera to my DSLR for CES and, man, I am deeply in love with this camera. The dual-knob solution for offering quick access to two settings is amazing and the interface beyond that offers incredible power and flexibility to the power user. For the novice, the Auto mode seems to be quite good too. I think there is probably a difficult gab between those two, though, but still I find this thing to be incredible. The build quality is amazing -- the matted finish is classy, grippable, and much better than any other point and shoot I've ever used. I considered the S100, but right now I'm really happy I saved the money and went with the S95.

  It is the best pocket friendly camera ever made and better than the S100. My only beef is that it has no OSX support so USB to camera to Mac does not work by default and the workaround to get it to work is a pain. It's low light performance is absolutely stellar and the level of user control makes it in many ways as powerful as a DSLR: without the clutter and heft. Its made in Japan not China and this is reflected in the solid build quality. The best camera I have ever owned because its small enough to have on hand while also delivering fantastic images in every light.
