I purchased the Beats Pro in November 2010. Over a year later, they still look and sound as if they came right out of the box. Monster built these to withstand heavy-duty use and they do so admirably. If you ever had any concerns about build quality with the Beats line, you can put those to rest.

The Studios never really did it for me when it came to sound quality. Plus, the noise-canceling would put pressure on my eardrums after a long studio/mixing session. The Beats Pro shine when it comes to sound. The highs soar without causing you to cringe and the mids very pronounced without interference from the lows. Bass is deep, but not muddy. If you like your music with clarity, yet still have that feel of a big audio system, these are the headphones for you.

There are two drawbacks to the Pros. Comfort can be an issue when using the Pros for more than a couple hours. Because they're built so well, extra weight through the materials used can become a factor, making them feel heavy. The bright side is, it's always good to take a break from a listening or recording session after a couple hours anyway. Secondly, for $400, the included carrying case is ridiculous. A small bag with a drawstring? Throw in a hard-shell case or drop the price by $50.

Everyone I've recommended the Pros to has been very happy with their purchase. If you're trying to decide between these and the Studios, go with the Pros. You'll get better build quality, better sound quality, and overall, a better listening experience.
