The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro may seem like a decent phone, but it's not even close.
The device is solidly built, with optionally interchangeable backplates, and has survived a few knocks and drops without any noticeable damage. The display, however, is pretty horrid, with a 320 x 240 resolution making text hilariously ugly. It's a TFT display, too, so it's nearly useless in direct sunlight. The device's keyboard is average, but usable.
The Mini Pro runs Android 2.1, an upgrade from the initial 1.6 released with the device, and is full of crapware. The default launcher confines you to one widget per home screen, though you can get around it via LauncherPro, and you'll need LauncherPro to remove all of the crapware and useless features that take up roughly 5 pages of the stock Launcher. Let me make this clear: Android 2.1 does not run smoothly on these devices, and you're going to spend a crapload of time managing your device to make sure it doesn't collapse under a load of software.
Call quality and reception are both decent, with 3 UK never failing to disappoint, and battery life can best be described as "middling" - using it for a few things (namely Twitter) through the day, I would be left with 30 to 20 percent by 4pm (after unplugging it at 7am). The less you do with it, the longer the battery life gets - this device can go for two days if you don't use it at all.
There's a 5.0MP camera in this device, and it is just terrible. It takes forever to focus, almost every image is blurry or full of noise, and the flash is pretty crappy, too.
All in all, the X10 Mini Pro hasn't aged well at all. Two words: avoid it.
