Like the Streak 5 before it, Dell has discontinued the Streak 7 tablet from its online store. The T-Mobile variant was similarly removed from the carrier's store earlier this year after being ignominiously denied a Honeycomb update, with a tiny moment back in the spotlight during T-Mobile's "Magenta Saturday sale."

Dell's site simply says that "Steak 7 is no longer available online, but you can browse our other mobile devices for similar products." The company's mobile products selection is actually looking pretty thin these days, with the Inspiron Duo holding down tablet duties and the Venue and Venue Pro smartphones still available. Remember how the Dell Streak 7 was finally being upgraded to Honeycomb? Well, that still holds true, minus the T-Mobile USA customers. Dell confirmed in its official corporate blog that those who bought the tablet from the nation's number four carrier will not be getting the update, citing no other reason than that there are requirements that need to be met based on carrier, region, and device. While Android devices have always had a questionable upgrade cycle, Dell won't be gaining any loyal customers from T-Mobile here.

It may have taken Dell eight months, but the Streak 7 is finally getting its long-awaited Honeycomb update. While the Android 3.2 update only seems to be rolling out to the WiFi version in the UK, the .pgk is now available from Dell's Mobile site and should work all the same on the US WiFi version. (We wouldn't try it on the T-Mobile model, however.) Obviously, the update brings the usual Honeycomb tweaks -- improved multitasking and tablet versions of Google's apps -- but it also includes improved Stage widgets and Dell's own upgraded tablet email app. Word is that it won't be rolling out in the US until October 7th, but hey, what's another few days after more than half a year!
