Amazon kicked off its Black Friday deals earlier this week, but the company is still going strong with daily deals. Just about everything in its store has been discounted for the holiday season, with the main attraction being the timed Lightning deals. Amazon is offering goodies such as cheap Blu-rays, video games, and music, but you’ll have to be quick if you want to snap up the best items. The calendar landing pages show when the Lightning deals are due to go live, and there are some more general discounts on television and electronics that are worth checking out too.

iOS gaming Black Friday 2012 deals

Console and PC gamers aren't the only ones in luck this holiday. Cult of Mac has compiled a list of iOS games currently on sale for Thanksgiving and Black Friday, mostly from EA but with a few Gameloft, Sega, and other titles thrown in. Better yet, pick up a $100 iTunes gift card from Best Buy for just $80 for an additional 20 percent savings on anything in the store. Here are some of the highlights:

Plants vs. Zombies HD or Plants vs. Zombies for $0.99.
Dead Space for iPad for $0.99.
Mirror's Edge for iPad or iPhone for $0.99.
Crazy Taxi for $2.99.
Carmageddon for $0.99.

Apple Black Friday sale goes live in the US (updated)

Apple has launched a one-day promotion in its Australian store, which may hint at the discounts Americans can expect to see on Black Friday. The biggest deals are on the MacBook line, with the Pro, Pro with Retina Display, and Air all $105 off. Meanwhile, iPads have seen a price drop of $41 while the most recent iPod touch is $31 cheaper. The sale also includes a number of accessories — ranging from Smart Covers to the Magic Mouse to EarPods — most of which are $11 off the sticker price. Of course there's no guarantee that these are the same discounts that will appear in the US store, but with Black Friday looming it won't be long before we find out.

Toys R Us Black Friday 2012 deals

As was the case last year, Toys R Us isn't even waiting until Black Friday to start its sale — its stores are opening at 8pm on Thanksgiving. If you're willing to brave the retail madhouse, though, there are some decent deals. Here's some of what you'll find from the evening of the 22nd to the close of business on the 23rd, at least until supplies run out:
