I don’t think that’s very relevant here since students will be using them in a school setting, on desks.
Maybe, maybe not.
Our department could afford around 35 of them to be shared between classes.

No, forget that. Instead, please don’t reply to any of my posts again if you can help it. I’m allergic to hyperbole. It gives me cancer.

Except Wii owners of course
Are you saying that Gamestop demographic ain’t legit? Gamestop sells Wii games too, last time I checked.
While we may never know the exact numbers, it’s probably safe to say that when you add up all three last gen consoles, men make up the majority. It’s stupid to debate about this, which you seem to want to do in the same vein as tzhu.
but then no doubt Wii games aren’t ‘serious’.
By serious, I meant the amount of money spent into developing these games. Not to mention advertisement and the depth of these games compared to the same repetitive FB game tasks.
I obviously don’t care about the debate between serious and non-serious gaming. I’m talking about the important stuff.
‘Serious games’ are another one of those vaguely defined things that basically means ‘Games that I like’.
I don’t like any games besides Skyrim, last two Fallouts, and Fifa. So don’t involve me in that lame debate, please. :)

Yea, I couldn’t remember if the touch and type covers were different when it came to that. Also, for clarification, I was basically saying that if these are for kids and they work with some adjustment for older folks, then kids won’t have any issues with it. It’s just different tech that does the same thing. Though of course there are the concerns that they may have to use regular keyboards in future careers, etc, but the crossover doesn’t seem to be a pain, as you and others said.

I personally don’t care about eating GMO, but people definitely have a right to choose (even if they’re currently being denied that right). And if these GMO companies stand by their product, then why are they so afraid to admit they stand by their product?
GMO labeling should be clear and should be the law. If fear mongering is a byproduct of that, then so be it.

While I dislike tzhu’s need to even bring this up, they do have a point. Most console gamers are men and console games are more serious games. This is obvious, even if a former GF was a serious console gamer (plus FB type games), whereas I only bought a console to play Skyrim.
But to only look at it in those terms, as tzhu probably wants to, is stupid. Why don’t consoles better serve the FB/Web/Mobile Phone game market is a good question to ask. I mean including elements from those games (which from I know can be quite addictive) and destroying the lame sexism in console games.
Most console gamers were also probably very young, at least until the Wii and something called Time hit those who were teens playing on the Genesis.
It’s not genetics that determines who like well developed console games. Simply culture and the intent of the games themselves.

But they’re still popular outside the US. Depends on the country. I watch a lot of pirated UK TV and the iPhone seems to be the only phone that’s known there (if going by the show, which yes, is just anecdotal) but I’ve heard Brits say that the iPhone is popular with adults, while the Blackberry is popular with Youngers. (It’s fun seeing iPhones pop up in Manga too)
If you view iPhone popularity by comparing it to the population of a country at large, you will fail at understanding why Apple makes so much money and why their platform is the most well supported. Simple as.
All that said, I really want to see a list of carriers per countries and their most popular models sold, along with their most popular platforms sold.
(This post of mines is a bit rambly, but it’s main goal is to say that, well that last paragraph.. Most popular platform = Android. Most popular model = iPhone?)

Doesn’t matter whether the entire of India buys a Lumia
This isn’t the first time I’ve noticed arrogant heralds of WP success from someone based in India. It really isn’t. Think I mentioned this before on the Verge. WP does seem to be quite strong in India.

I think your school would be much better off with 30 Surface RTs with Type Covers than 35 Surface RTs with Touch Covers
Why? I’ve read a good number of times that the Touch Covers work just fine, you just have to get use to them (even from M.G. Siegler) i.e. Complaints about them seem to come from an older generation who are use to traditional keyboards.
Edit: (Are type covers easier on the lap?)

I don’t think they will. Especially after they’ve shown that they are willing to make the OS more functional and feature-packed with iOS7, instead of going down the road of cheap iPhones
Lemme rewrite this to show you what you just said and why it’s ridiculous.
I don’t think they will. Especially after they’ve shown that they are willing to make the OS more functional and feature-packed with iOS7 at their WW*DevelopersConference*, instead of going down the road of cheap iPhones because they are only allowed to do one thing on one day till the end of time and for some odd reason I will never be able to explain Apple changing tact in one area (software) means they will not change tact in another (hardware) though the latter is still possible because I like contradicting myself in the same sentence.

Apple will be a small player in 10 years thanks to the fact they are the premium maker.
The activations tell all and that’s where android is killing them.
1. iDevices sell more and more each year.
2. Premium markets are in every country and Apple hasn’t tapped anywhere near all of them.
3. Those activations haven’t hurt the iPhone yet. How could they? Lower income folks buying into a platform will not convince developers to leave a cashcow.

If someone doesn’t know how to use a calculator, I’m going to assume they’re not good at math.
If someone has never birthed a foal, I’m going to assume they’re a crappy cowboy.
If someone doesn’t know how to write with any grammatical sense at all, I’m going to assume they have not the slightest idea what they’re talking about.
Here you go.

whether it’s a major issue that apple should look into
Yes. Because Apple is checking tech forums for issues. As opposed to using their established methods…

Why are there so many people on their high horse about people using beta software?
No one cares if you’re using beta software. It’s the beta software complaints thrown into the virtual and real ether that people are rightfully complaining about.
And why are so many acting as Apple police, reminding people about the NDA?
Agreed.

A number of screenshots showing what iOS 7 will look like on the iPad
May look like…
have been leaked by Twitter user Sonny Dickson.
No leak…
The images, which were obtained using the simulator feature of Apple’s XCode developer platform
Then why call it a leak or say this is what iOS 7 will look like on the iPad?
Oh Verge. Sigh.
