Liking fine vintage american automobiles doesn't make me a stupid redneck. American muscle was designed to go in a straight line really fast, and that's how I like to live. No beating around the bush, no fluff, I'm going to call it like I see it.

We have no money to invest in this initiative. Of all the things we could be spending money on, Obama wants to make sure he can surf the internet on his iPhone. How about paying back some debt, so China doesn’t take over out country and the internet.

Yes, because we have so much extra money to throw at this. Another example of Obama not caring about the budget.

It’s fine on a tablet, but on a desktop where I am right now sitting 3 feet from my screen, it is silly. And why are you trying to design computers for a dying generation. Every young child in the Verse knows how to use a mouse, and if they don’t, it takes them 10 minutes to figure it out. It took me 3 minutes to acclimate to the magic track pad at the local Apple store, and judging from the people around me, the locals were having no problem learning how to use it either. Touch is just not the right answer for sitting at a desk and moving around your big screen. You are either way too close to the monitor or have to lay the monitor down, which causes neck issues. Not to mention putting your arm out in front of a screen puts blind spots on your screen as you move your arm between the screen and your eyes.

What part of Windows do ordinary people not know how to use? The parts most people do not understand are probably parts that they shouldn’t mess with in the first place. or never will mess with anyway. You are acting like using Windows is rocket science. It’s a mouse based UI. It works well with a mouse, and I’m tired of people pretending that Windows 8 is any less complicated. You still have to know where to go to find things; they are just in different locations, and now you are faced with users accidentally being thrown back into desktop mode. So what have we solved? Nothing. If anything, it is more complex now. We all know this is Microsoft’s answer to the tablet OS, and we all know that shoehorning an old full-size OS into a current tablet is not the best way to enter that market. Neither is encouraging people to use tablet based touch interfaces on a 24" desktop. They should have designed a work flow that was touch friendly and tailored to big screen computers. Instead we have Window 8. Just imagine if they cut all the Metro crap out of Window 8, and had just slimmed it down and cleaned it up for touch based kiosks. That’s the operating system I want. Slim trim and mouse/touchpad friendly.

This is just stupid. Complexities? What. Oh no. . . it takes ten minutes to orient yourself to something you will be using for years. It is sooooo difficult. How could those brilliant computer geeks figure it out?? Start and then Programs?? That’s just toooo complicated. . . Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! Uh oh. . . Control Panel controls things?? How could that be? Do you realize that there are millions of other stupid people besides yourself that get along just fine in Windows? Now we are trying to convince them that they need to do arm circles to navigate their computers.

Josh, for future reference, when you, The Josh Topolsky, respond to stupid comments, it encourages the stupid person who wrote the stupid comment to keep commenting, thus prolonging the stupid comment string. Give no legitimacy to stupidity.

Windows 7 work because it was the culmination of Windows to date. It is the best version ever because everything finally works. It’s what I always wanted from Windows. Window 8 is not anything I ever wanted my operating system to do. Will hold off on that upgrade as long as possible.

The original Galaxy S was the perfect screen size for the majority of phone users. They got that part right. It allowed the phone to be put in a pocket comfortably, but still made reading easy. 4.3" on the ATT Galaxy S II is a big as I will ever go, but 3.5" or and elongated version, no longer does it for me.

Piece of crap build quality from everything I’ve read. And 4.7 inches is too big for some people.

There goes any hope of replacing some of our oil usage with sun power. I mean seriously, sense we already give billions to China every year in loan payments, can’t we at benefit from their subsidies?

So just pull out your handy dandy pocket EMP blaster??? Most EMP generators large enough to take down a robot that has long arms are pretty large and require large power sources.

I have the Targus. It was cheap and works, but no stylus is really accurate on a 3.5" screen. Better than a finger though.

Brands are too hard to draw without using names or words. There are a few that stand out, but can you imagine drawing Scotch or EMachine?

What this will really do, is force set designers and special effects producer to get better. Most of the problem with realistic film is the blemishes you see in the details. If Peter Jackson thinks he can pull it off, then I’m not going to say no don’t, out of some pointless allegiance to tradition. – Especially since this film is made for 3D which is the intermediate step to VR. Are you going to ask the VR guys to tone down the frame rate so our virtual reality doesn’t look so realistic??
